Scott Cardenscott_cardenasas joined the City and County of Denver in 2013 and as Chief Information Officer (CIO) he is responsible for leading the City’s technology strategy and managing overall IT operations, Denver 311 and Denver Channel 8.

His initiatives
include improving service delivery through embracing effective and efficient use of technology; creating business models for delivering new services such as cloud solutions; team development and process improvement and leading strategic initiatives to transform the technology department to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to customer and resident needs.

Prior to joining the City and County of Denver, Scott was the Chief Technology Officer for Kiewit, a global leader in industrial construction. In prior roles, Scott worked for Denver International Airport and EchoStar Corporation.

Scott holds a BS degree in Computer Information Systems from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a MBA from The Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver
