Version 7 of the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is a clear break from the past. While there is still a place for traditional project management commonly called waterfall, Agile product development is the mainstream way to develop software and other products. PMI is embracing Agile by integrating common Agile practices with traditional practices. Is it possible to find a hybrid path or corporate leaders too polarized across the Agile and Waterfall divide?
We will review the changes at PMI, including the changes to the PMP exam, and then discuss the possibilities of a hybrid approach to project management and product development.
